Story's Australia & New Zealand Tour: The Adventure Begins
Story's Australia & New Zealand Tour begins in Sydney, gateway to the land down under. Then we're off to the Outback, home to Ayer's Rock or Uluru — the world's largest monolith — discover this itinerary for incredible cuisine and wine, exceptional beauty, rugged wilderness and tropical rainforests brimming with green. Finally discover true 'technicolor' with the stunning Great Barrier Reef. Then we're off to metropolitan Melbourne, gateway to the Great Ocean Road and Penguin Island! We continue our journey to the South Island of New Zealand, without question one of the most beautiful places in the world. After breakfast, meet the Tour Captain and then enjoy our included sightseeing experience of Sydney, Australia. The Story of Sydney begins in the heart of the city and the historic "Rocks District." The original settlement of Australia, we learn all about the amazing past. We enjoy an immersion in everything Sydney with our Panoramic drive.
Sydney-Siders, as they're called, are a warm people for such a cosmopolitan city. We return early afternoon for the balance of the day at leisure.

At dawn, we arrive the literal "Red Center of Australia." Get ready for something unlike anything you've experienced from the Rock to the Southern Hemisphere.
SUNRISE AT THE ROCK
We depart before sunrise for Ayer's Rock, Uluru to the Aboriginal people. Enjoy an impressive display of color as the sun rises.
It's a brisk morning, but well worth it to experience Ayer's Rock up close with its own brilliant display of colors. Enjoy a continental breakfast this morning at the Rock as we soak in the amazing colors on the Rock.
After our experience at the Rock, we then continue to the airport and our onward flight to Queensland.
Air Hop Today: We make our way to the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef today. Your required on-tour air flight is included in your tour price.
Sunny Tropical Far North Queensland
Welcome to Tropical Far North Queensland, where the rainforest meets the reef. Upon arrival, we transfer to our hotel and freshen up before a Queensland welcome dinner with your Tour Captain.

Day 7: THE STORY OF THE REEF


This morning we board a vessel and enjoy the complimentary morning tea/coffee on boarding. As our Wavepiercer departs the Reef Marina for the Outer Barrier Reef a Marine biology presentation is shown. A snorkeling demonstration will follow. If you're participating in scuba diving or helmet diving, you'll have a 30 minute briefing with the dive crew in readiness for your dive.
Once we approach the Outer Barrier Reef you have the option to swim and snorkel from the activity platform. Underwater observatory open for coral and fish viewing. Semi-subs depart every fifteen minutes from the rear of the platform. Pre-booked guided snorkel, scuba and helmet diving, and scenic helicopter flights commence as scheduled. (If you wish to participate in diving, guided snorkeling, and a scenic helicopter ride please inquire with the STORY sales team for pricing).
At 12:00 an included Lunch will be served. Following this you will have more time for reef activities or just relax and enjoy the ocean view.
This afternoon we will depart the Reef for our return to Port Douglas arriving approx. 5:00PM where we will make our way back to the hotel for the remainder of your day at leisure.

Day 8: Kuranda Rainforest by SkyRail + Koala & Crocs
This morning enjoy our sightseeing immersion far above the Kuranda Rainforest via the SkyRail ‘Rainforest Cableway,' followed by our admission and experience at the Koala and Wildlife Park.
On the SkyRail, you will enjoy a bird’s eye view of pristine World Heritage Rainforest with two stops at Barron Falls and Red Peak stations. At each stop the friendly Skyrail staff will help you disembark your gondola to enjoy the spectacular boardwalks that descend into the pristine rainforest.
Then we make our way to the Koala and Wildlife Park and come face to face with Crocodiles, hand feed Barramundi, Kangaroos and Wallabies. There is also the opportunity to view other native species, including Rainforest Pythons, Cassowaries and Dingoes. You may also take the opportunity to cuddle a Koala and have your photograph taken (for an optional extra!).
At the end of today's journey we transfer back to our hotel — an amazing day.

Day 9: Welcome to Melbourne

We board our on-tour flight from Cairns to Melbourne. Upon arrival, we make our way to the heart of the city, check-in, freshen up and then enjoy a walking tour with our Expert Guide.
Sightseeing Experience
Today our Story Expert Guide immerses us in the history and culture of Melbourne.
Highlights include:
- Learn about arts and history at the the Shrine of Remembrance, Royal Botanic Gardens and see the Arts Centre -Melbourne
- Stroll around the vibrant suburb of St Kilda, perhaps purchasing a treat at one its famous European-style patisseries

We touchdown in Barwon Heads to explore the Great Ocean Road and see the amazing limestone formation, the Twelve Apostles. Be mesmerized by the natural beauty as you explore the Surf Coast of Victoria.
We return by our craft to Melbourne for a free evening.

Day 12: TO NEW ZEALAND

Day 13: MILFORD SOUND
Included Dining: Lunch onboard our cruise.
This morning we make our way to the airport for our special chartered flight to enchanting Milford Sound. Just when you thought it couldn't get more awe-inspiring, you arrive to some of the most majestic scenes found in the world. This area of New Zealand has been noted as a World Heritage Site.
MILFORD SOUND EXPERIENCE
We continue to explore the Fiordland National Park as we make our way to Milford Sound for our special onboard cruise complete with lunch among the magnificent cliffs and glacier-hewn inlets of the Sound.
After we land we will choose whether to take the shuttle bus or, if time permits, take you on a short walk through the bush and foreshore to the cruise boat. Once on the boat, we will enjoy a leisurely cruise along the whole length of the sound.
Included Lunch: Enjoy lunch at the onboard restaurant. After the cruise, our pilot will escort you back to the aircraft for the return flight to Queenstown along a different flight path.
We return to our hotel in Queenstown for the evening. Make note, in the event of inclement weather and subsequent flight cancellation, we will attempt to reschedule for the next day, however, there are no refunds. Should this event be cancelled, guests will need to submit this as a claim to their travel insurance.

Day 15: WINE TASTING WITH LUNCH + FAREWELL

INCLUDED WINERY EXPERIENCE
A leisurely morning turns into a wonderful mid-day experience as we set off for the nearby Gibbston Valley. We head north from Queenstown where you will enjoy our winery tour and taste the varietals from the South Island paired with lunch. Exquisite!
We will return to Queenstown in the mid to late afternoon to freshen up before a wonderful farewell event tonight.
Special Dining: We step aboard the TSS Earnslaw for a nostalgic cruising and dining experience. We enjoy a cruise of the lake on the way to the Colonel’s Homestead at Walter Peak. Please NOTE: This is a seasonal experience. Alternate activity will be provided during off-season. Enjoy high country hospitality and a carvery style dinner featuring the best of New Zealand meats and seafood, along with fresh vegetables and garden salads.
An entertaining after dinner show provides a glimpse into farming life. We return to our hotel for the balance of day at leisure. Your Farewell to the South Pacific dinner is with the Tour Captain tonight.

THE AUSTRALIAN OUTBACK – This morning at dawn, we arrive the literal "Red Center of Australia." Get ready for something unlike anything you've experienced from the Rock to the Southern Hemisphere.
SUNRISE AT THE ROCK
We depart before sunrise for Ayer's Rock, Uluru to the Aboriginal people. Enjoy an impressive display of color as the sun rises.
It's a brisk morning, but well worth it to experience Ayer's Rock up close with its own brilliant display of colors. Enjoy a continental breakfast this morning at the Rock as we soak in the amazing colors on the Rock.
After our experience at the Rock, we then continue to the airport and our onward flight to Queensland.
Air Hop Today: We make our way to the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef today. Your required on-tour air flight is included in your tour price.
Sunny Tropical Far North Queensland – THE CAPTAIN COOK HIGHWAY
Welcome to Tropical Far North Queensland, where the rainforest meets the reef. Upon arrival, we transfer via the amazingly scenic Captain Cook Highway to our hotel and freshen up before a Queensland welcome dinner with your Tour Captain.

Day 7: THE STORY OF THE REEF

This morning we board a vessel and enjoy the complimentary morning tea/coffee on boarding. As our Wavepiercer departs the Reef Marina for the Outer Barrier Reef a Marine biology presentation is shown. A snorkeling demonstration will follow. If you're participating in scuba diving or helmet diving, you'll have a 30 minute briefing with the dive crew in readiness for your dive.
Once we approach the Outer Barrier Reef you have the option to swim and snorkel from the activity platform. Underwater observatory open for coral and fish viewing. Semi-subs depart every fifteen minutes from the rear of the platform. Pre-booked guided snorkel, scuba and helmet diving, and scenic helicopter flights commence as scheduled. (If you wish to participate in diving, guided snorkeling, and a scenic helicopter ride please inquire with the STORY sales team for pricing).
At 12:00 an included Lunch will be served. Following this you will have more time for reef activities or just relax and enjoy the ocean view.
This afternoon we will depart the Reef for our return to Port Douglas arriving approx. 5:00PM where we will make our way back to the hotel for the remainder of your day at leisure.

Day 8: THE STORY OF KURANDA

This morning enjoy our sightseeing immersion far above the Kuranda Rainforest via the SkyRail ‘Rainforest Cableway,' followed by our admission and experience at the Koala and Wildlife Park- Award winning Rainforestation Nature Park: On the SkyRail, you will enjoy a bird’s eye view of pristine World Heritage Rainforest with two stops at Barron Falls and Red Peak stations. At each stop the friendly Skyrail staff will help you disembark your gondola to enjoy the spectacular boardwalks that descend into the pristine rainforest.
- Then we make our way to the Koala and Wildlife Park and come face to face with Crocodiles, hand feed Barramundi, Kangaroos and Wallabies. There is also the opportunity to view other native species, including Rainforest Pythons, Cassowaries and Dingoes. You may also take the opportunity to cuddle a Koala and have your photograph taken (for an optional extra!). At the end of today's journey we transfer back to our hotel — an amazing day.

- This morning we make our way to the airport for our special chartered flight to enchanting Milford Sound. Just when you thought it couldn't get more awe-inspiring, you arrive to some of the most majestic scenes found in the world. This area of New Zealand has been noted as a World Heritage Site. We continue to explore the Fiordland National Park as we make our way to Milford Sound for our special onboard cruise complete with lunch among the magnificent cliffs and glacier-hewn inlets of the Sound.
After we land we will choose whether to take the shuttle bus or, if time permits, take you on a short walk through the bush and foreshore to the cruise boat. Once on the boat, we will enjoy a leisurely cruise along the whole length of the sound.
Included Lunch: Enjoy lunch at the onboard restaurant. After the cruise, our pilot will escort you back to the aircraft for the return flight to Queenstown along a different flight path.
We return to our hotel in Queenstown for the evening. Make note, in the event of inclement weather and subsequent flight cancellation, we will attempt to reschedule for the next day, however, there are no refunds. Should this event be cancelled, guests will need to submit this as a claim to their travel insurance.

PASSPORTS & VISAS
Travel documents are your responsibility including compliance with customs' regulations. Please make sure that you have completed your Australia entrance Visa. Information for this is:https://www.eta.immi.gov.au/ETAS3/etas.
PASSPORTS: A valid passport is required and must be obtained in person by each tour member at a local passport office.
LODGING & ACCOMMODATIONS
Tour prices are per person, based on two persons sharing double or twin-bedded room with private bathroom with tub or shower. Single rooms subject to availability and at an additional cost (tour participants without a roommate will have to pay the single room surcharge). Hotels used are Deluxe class categories (4 and 5-Star) you choose based on your preferences.
SERVICE CHARGES AND TAXES: All departure taxes and tipping are included.
Airfare is not included but it can be quoted here. Remember, you are responsible to arrive at the point of your small group tour origination. If you are delayed for any reason, your vacation may be at risk even if Story Land & Sea® made your airfare arrangements. Airfare is a completely separate booking from your land tour vacation. You can cancel your vacation with a 100% refund up to 90 days prior to departure. Within 90 days you will begin receiving penalties per the terms of the Tour Application should you have to cancel.
Travel Protection is not included. Story Land and Sea® recommends that you purchase a travel protection plan to help protect you and your travel investment against the unexpected. A Protection Plan can include coverage for Trip Cancellation, Trip Interruption, Emergency Medical and Emergency Evacuation/Repatriation, Trip Delay, Baggage Delay and more.

Australian Travel Visa
When traveling to Australia from the USA or Canada, you will need a valid passport and a visa to enter. Most U.S. & Canada passport holders traveling to Australia for tourism or business purposes for less than 90 days can obtain an Electronic Travel Authority (ETA). The ETA is an electronic label-free visa and can be obtained at the ETA website for a small service fee. Inquire with your Story Sales Associate with any questions regarding this visa.
