Travel tips: Please note the average altitude in the Andes Mountain Range is 12,000 feet. The reduced air pressure and lower oxygen levels may cause some travelers to have symptoms of light-headedness, headaches and fatigue. Hydrating with lots of bottled water, moving slowly to get acclimated, and avoiding alcohol will help prevent these symptoms. Also, you may want to try Andean mint tea and coca leaves. Our itinerary has us acclimating at lower levels of the Sacred Valley before ascending to higher levels.
