food icon   STORY Way Dining: The STORY Land & Sea approach to dining debuts with your Tour Captain and fellow travelers as you taste the finest cuisine from the Great Alaskan Frontier.

About the STORY Way: Slow Food Movement: Locally grown, farm to table.
Our approach to dining is truly unique. STORY Land & Sea's unique, off-the-beaten-path venues provide an immersion into authentic regional food and wine. Your Tour Captain will select a variety of appetizers, featuring regional cuisine, and will select your vino for the evening: a variety of red and white wine, and yes, "the wine flows." Then you will be presented with the restaurant's primary menu. It's an intentionally slow evening of delight so you can savor the experience.

Alaskan Train Journey

Train to Talkeetna, Alaska

This morning we will board the deluxe dome railcar for a beautiful journey through the amazing Denali National Park.

Denali National Park and Preserve encompasses 6 million acres of Alaska's interior wilderness. Its centerpiece is 20,310-ft.-high Denali (fka Mount McKinley), North America's tallest peak. With terrain of tundra, spruce forest and glaciers, the park is home to wildlife including grizzly bears, wolves, moose, caribou and Dall sheep.

Breakfast and Lunch will be served on the train while you enjoy panoramic views of Denali's magical snow capped mountains and breathtaking landscapes.

Upon arrival in Talkeetna, your Tour Captain will do a short Orientation Walkabout in the town of Talkeetna that has a great, relaxed atmosphere with beautiful views of Denali. It is said to be the inspiration for the old TV show "Northern Exposure". The residents seem to enjoy a slower pace of life even though it is the main hub for every climber attempting to summit Denali. They must make a stop at Talkeetna NPS ranger station and because of this you will see signed summit and climbing team flags throughout the entire town in restaurants, stores and hotels.
