Arrive Phoenix

Day 1: Arrival to Phoenix with overnight in Scottsdale.

WELCOME TO PHOENIX, ARIZONA

This historic corner of downtown is fun and funky, with a decidedly Old West flair. Highlights include colorful shops boasting souvenirs and Western Wear, galleries of Native American jewelry and Scottsdale’s famous ice cream parlor, the Sugar Bowl. The Arts District boasts one of the highest concentrations of galleries in the nation and is a celebration of creativity in all genres and mediums. A local businessman Wes Segner and artist Lloyd Kiva New put Fifth Avenue on the map in the 1950s when they built the Kiva Craft Center. Today, the avenue features dozens of unique shops, restaurants and the Bob Parks Horse Fountain.

Oak Creek Canyon is a breathtaking stretch of beauty on a winding road that climbs 4,500 feet from Sedona to the top of the Mogollon Rim.

Arriving in the afternoon, we will check in and freshen up before venturing out with the Tour Captain for our first look into this amazing sight. Seeing the changing lights of sunset is a must do and we will take time for this before dinner.

Moab to Bryce Canyon

Day 7: Bryce Canyon Exploration

Optional Dining: Join your Tour Captain tonight for an optional dinner or explore on your own.

Today we depart from Moab and take in Canyonlands and Capital Reef in route to Bryce Canyon. Arriving in the late afternoon we will make our first visit to Bryce Canyon to take in the ever changing colors of the canyon before returning to our accommodations for dinner and a good night's sleep.

Capitol Reef National Park is a 100-mile pinch in the earth’s crust in the geographical middle of nowhere, but it’s overloaded with geological, cultural and sensory consequence. A tiny cross-section of the spinning rock we're clinging to. Named for what it looks like (white rock domes like the U.S. Capitol, rocky ridges like marine reefs) — but isn't — because it wasn't like anything anyone had ever seen.

Upon our arrival to Bryce we will make our way to Ruby's Inn, our accommodation for the night.

Day 8: More Bryce Canyon Exploration

Optional Dining: Join your Tour Captain tonight for an optional dinner or explore on your own.

Today we will explore more of Bryce Canyon.

Zion NP, UT

This morning we will take a very scenic drive through the Bryce Canyon park with multiple stops to examine these whimsical rock formations known as Hoodoos. Wind, water and time have eroded Bryce Canyon National Park's sandstone cliffs into otherworldly characters plucked from the unconscious of a mad Viking. Rows of humanoid pillars crosshatched by rock strata look almost intentional but perfectly surreal.

Day 10: The Delights of Zion

Optional Dinner Tonight: Join your Tour Captain tonight for an optional dinner or explore on your own.

Carved by water and time, Zion National Park is a canyon that invites you to participate in the very forces that created it. In the warm climate of southwestern Utah, step into the Virgin River and see the colorful strata that mark the ages rising for thousands of feet up to a narrow strip of sky, then hike to seemingly impossible places and heights. We travel today by park shuttles as that is the only way you are allowed to access this amazing park.

Exploring Zion National Park
Opportunities to see and explore Zion National Park abound for people of all ages and abilities, from the scenic byways that slice through the park to the trails that wind through the back country. Wildlife watchers can stop at numerous lookouts and search the sky for Zion’s more than 200 bird species, while hikers can strap on their boots and venture out on trails ranging from easy interpretive nature walks to lengthy, challenging hikes through narrow slot canyons. Hiking in Zion National Park is major reason why many people visit.

We will travel into the park as a group but the amount of time you spend in the park today is up to you. We will regroup at our hotel tonight for an optional dinner together.

Dining: Enjoy an optional dinner with the Tour Captain or explore at leisure.
