Your international flight is not included in your tour package, however, we can arrange your air travel through our Story® Air Service Department. Orientation Walkabout
At 3:00 pm, join your Tour Captain for an Orientation Walkabout on your arrival day in Reims. Find out where some of the major landmarks are located, ATM machines and other helpful sites and information as you orient to Reims.

Tonight, you will enjoy our included dining at a delightful and typical Reims restaurant. It's fully authentic French complete with excellent cuisine and premium wine. Reims welcomes us with a variety of regional culinary tastes, beverages and ample portions of fine local wines from around the city and the provinces.

Free-choice dining means you select what you'd like from the menu ~ the Tour Captain is available to help you interpret the menu. Your Tour Captain will provide the appetizers featuring regional cuisine and will select your wine for the evening ~ a variety of red and white wine from the regions in France.

Reims

Day 3: The famous Cathedral of Reims: A World Heritage Site

 

Today we will visit the most important sights in Reims with our Story Guide.The famous Cathedral of Reims; a World Heritage Site . The masterpiece of Gothic Art, this cathedral is also well-known thanks to its numerous statues and extraordinary stained glass windows dating from the 13th century. The afternoon will continue with a guided visit of the wineries of international renowned MUMM in order to discover all the stages involved in manufacturing champagne. A tasting will follow at the end of this famous brand of champagne Mumm Cordon Rouge.

Day 4: Little Venice of France - Birthplace of the Statue of Liberty designer

 

   Story Way® Included Dining: Dinner this evening

We'll travel on to Colmar, the breath-taking "Little Venice" of France with its flower lined canal district and brightly colored buildings. We'll check-in, bags will be stored until rooms are ready later today.

There will be time to freshen up before we set off for an informative orientation walk with your Tour Captain where we'll enjoy a look at the house where Frederic Bartholdi, designer of the Statue of Liberty, was born. His house is now a museum with five of his models of the statue on display.

Colmar

Day 5: Alsace Wine Tour

Today you'll experience a half day Alsace wine tour .The Alsatian Wine Route is truly picture-perfect with vines climbing to the forests of the Vosges, Middle Age castle ruins, old villages and hospitable winstubs (traditional restaurants in Alsace) and, of course, lively wine cellars.

French Wines

In addition, you'll see Romanesque churches and fountains from the Renaissance, as well as ancient abodes,. Along the wine route, we'll arrive at one of the many picturesque villages such as such as Eguisheim, Pfaffenheim, Rouffach or Turckheim.

You'll be introduced to the wines of Alsace through two guided wine tasting sessions that will take place in the local wineries. Also included is a historical walking tour in one of the villages, where you'll learn about the culture and traditions of this unique region of France.

Burgundy Region

Day 6: At Leisure

   Story Way® Special Dining: Enjoy our Included Dinner this evening.

Departing the Alsace region and driving into Burgundy, enjoy viewing the fields dotted with vineyards.

Arriving in Beaune, you'll discover many culinary treats as we walk through the historical city center.

Throughout the tour, we'll stop at man unique and authentic places for tasting. Among the delicacies that are the pride of Burgundy are mustard, kir, gougères, gingerbread and many more.

Burgundy Region

Day 7: Explore the Burgundy wine region today.

Discovering the beautiful Burgundy wine region is our objective today as we drive along the famous Route des Grands Crus.

The region's famous Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes are throughout the vineyards, where you'll hear about the importance of 'terroir', and learn the names of the Côte de Beaune region, including Village, 1er Cru and Grand Cru wines.

Special Sightseeing Experience
We enjoy a guided tour of the Hospices of Beaune, a former 15th-century hospital, renowned for its Gothic architecture and magnificent painting of The Last Judgment by Rogier Van Der Weyden.

After breaking for a lunch of regional cuisine accompanied by a selection of red, white, or rosé wines at a wine cellar in Santenay, we take a scenic drive though winemaking villages such as Pommard and Volnay, and admiring the Château de Rochepot.

Lyon

Day 8: Medieval village of Perouges

   Story Way® Special Dining: Enjoy our Included Dinner this evening.

We head south today for our final city of the tour, Lyon.

Special Sightseeing Experience
We will make a stop in the medieval village of Perouges. Located at the top of a hill overlooking the Rhône plain, this former weavers' settlement has kept evidence of its medieval past within its double enclosure of walls.you'll see old 15C and 16C houses, unevenly paved streets, and the fortress church to name but a few. We will take time for lunch in the village before completing todays journey to Lyon. Upon arrival in the early afternoon we will check in to our hotel and freshen up before venturing out for an orientation tour led by your Tour Captain.

Day 9: Visit to Saint-Jean cathedral.

   Optional Dinner Tonight.

Lyon is one of France's most important cities and today we enjoy a comprehensive look at the major sights.

Your Story local Expert Guide will take you through the old city of Lyon, Vieux Lyon. Starting from the hotel we first visit Saint-Jean cathedral. During the middle ages and the renaissance, this was the heart of the city. Now, it is one of the highlights of a visit to Lyon.

The neighborhood is so unique that it is protected by UNESCO and on our tour you will see why!The houses in Vieux Lyon are painted in bright colours and are often hundreds of years old. The little streets are not only filled with history, but also with traditional restaurants and shops. Your guide will explain everything about the neighborhood and show you some hidden 'Traboules', old passageways between houses.

Wine Tour

Day 10: Beaujolais Half Day Wine Tour

   Included Farewell Reception & Dinner

This morning we are off to Beaujolais to discover the 10 most famous crus. Saint-Amour, Juliénas, Chenas, Moulin à Vent, Fleurie, Chiroubles, Morgon, Régnié, Côte de Brouilly and Brouilly. To remember them all, memorise this French sentence: "Alors Je Cherche Mon Frère Chez Ma Respectable Cousine Berthe" With an include lunch this day is sure to please.
